How do different cultures use piercings to make themselves more beautiful?

In their culture, there was a wide variety of jewelry worn. Most people would wear septum rings made of jade or gold because of their religious connotations. Gold was able to be identified as the status of the warrior.  They would wear septum piercings to religious ceremonies and special celebrations.
