The Thai have a gathering every year called the Phucket Vegetarian Festival. While at the festival, devoted religious individuals get in the right headspace and put themselves into some type of trance, so they can tolerate working their desired items through their cheeks. They also perform this act at sacred rituals called "Mah Song" and the "Spirit Horses".
